How Do I Grant Assessment Retakes?
Teachers can grant assessment retakes from within the gradebook for individual students. There are two ways to do this.
- Please note that allowing a retake will clear the student's previously submitted answers and their grade. It cannot be recovered.
First locate your course on the Teacher Dashboard and click Gradebook for the specific class. If you are already on the course page find the Gradebook option on the left menu.
If you have multiple classes, first select the class in which the student is enrolled from drop down menu in the upper right. You should see a list of your students and their grades.
Granting Retakes by Student
- This is a good method if you only have one student that needs to retake one specific assessment.
1. Click on the student’s name to bring up their work.
2. Expand the specific module in which the assessment was taken and find the specific assessment you want to reset.
3. On the right side of the page you will see the time spent on the assessment, a green circle if the assessment as been completed, and a grade.
4. Click Retake below the grade to reset the assessment for the student to take the assessment again.
Granting Retakes by Assessment
- This is a good method if you have multiple students that need to retake the same assessment.
1. Look at the top of the gradebook page for two tabs: Students and Content. Click on the Content view to bring up a list of the modules.
2. Expand the specific module in which the assessment was taken and find the specific assessment you want to reset.
3. Click the assessment name to see a list of your students and their grades.
4. Find the student on the list and click Allow Retake in the Action column to the right of the student's name. Repeat for as many students as needed.
