Teacher Support: Getting Started: Create a Class
So you have already Created a Course but before you can give your students access to the course material you must first set up the specific class.
What is a Class?
A class is what defines a group of students and their time frame. For example, you may teach this course in 3 different class periods. In this case, you will want to create 3 different classes so your students and gradebook will be organized by class.
Create a Class
To add a class, simply select Add Class on your Dashboard below your active course. You will then be prompted to enter the Term, Section, Start Date, and End Date of your class.
Once a class is added, a randomly generated Class Code will be created. This code is unique to each class and can be used by your students to self-enroll in that specific class grouping.
All classes (first period, second period, etc.) connected to a course will share the same syllabus and view options. So if you have an advanced class that will use all of the chapters, and a basic class that will use only a portion of the material, you will want to set up two courses, and a class for each.
If all of your classes will be going through the same course material, then just set up one course with multiple classes.
Next you can enroll your students.
